- Wrong steps — a recreate that does not match the tutorial
- Screenshot issue — a formula or caption that does not match the image
- Site problem — a missing error, a broken page, or a privacy question
Sheet Error is a public tutorial library at sheeterror.com. Mail to the address above is the only channel. This page is the contact page for the site — not a ticket portal, not live chat, and not a form product that files a case.
Write when a published tutorial is wrong, when an error you hit is missing from the catalog, or when you have a privacy question. The sections below say what to include, what will not be handled, and how long a reply usually takes.
What to email
Section titled “What to email”Write if a tutorial has an error. That means a formula on the page that does not match the screenshot, a recreate step that does not produce the error or the fix in current Google Sheets, a caption that names the wrong cell, or a claim that is no longer true in the English Sheets UI. Include the page URL, the formula you typed, and what the cell showed. A screenshot of your recreate helps; a dump of the whole workbook does not.
Write if an error you hit is missing from the catalog. Name the value in the cell —#N/A, #REF!, #VALUE!, #NAME?,#DIV/0!, #NUM!, or a parse message — the formula that produced it, and what you expected instead. If the miss is a combination the site does not cover yet, say that in one sentence. The library grows by adding one public error page at a time, not by taking on a private file.
Privacy questions use the same address. The privacy page says what this static site collects today: hosting logs, and Google advertising when ads are enabled. If a section there is unclear, write to [email protected] and point at that section. Do not send passwords or spreadsheet-share links that were meant to stay private; this site has no accounts to attach them to.
What this inbox does not handle
Section titled “What this inbox does not handle”This is not a freelance spreadsheet desk. Custom spreadsheet rebuilds are out of scope: a shared workbook, a “make this dashboard work” list, or a request to rewrite someone else’s formulas into a new model. Those mails will not become a private project, a quote, or a rebuilt file sent back to you.
Homework dumps are out of scope in the same way. A class assignment, a take-home test, or a paste of “here is my sheet, fix all the formulas” is not what this inbox is for. The tutorials are written so you can recreate one error on a blank sheet and type the fix yourself. If a page is wrong, send the error on that page. If a page is missing, send the error value and the formula. Do not send the entire homework file and ask for the answers.
Reply window
Section titled “Reply window”Mail is read by a person, not by an on-call rotation. A typical reply takes a few days. This is not a 24-hour SLA, not a same-day guarantee, and not live support. If you do not hear back in a few days, the mail may have been missed; one follow-up is fine. Messages that are due tonight do not jump the queue, because this inbox is not a support contract.
A factual correction on a published tutorial is more likely to get a reply than a general “how do I learn Sheets” question. The useful outcome is a fix on the public page, not a private thread that only you can read.
No accounts, comments, or forms
Section titled “No accounts, comments, or forms”There are no user accounts, no comment threads, and no newsletter signup on this site. There is no contact form on this page, and none will be added as a product. A form would imply tickets, status, and a queue. Sheet Error is a static reference library; mail to [email protected] is the only channel.
